Hawks - Great Way to Minimize the Squirrel Population

Thought I'd share this picture of the bird that quickly swooped in and in an instant grabbed an unsuspecting fat bushy tailed grey squirrel, that was leisurely munching leftover safflower seeds on my back deck, by the back with his talons and flew directly to the top of my red maple where he devoured fresh squirrel.

The hawk made a return appearance and perched on my deck railing right in front of the rhododendron. My hubby ran and got the camera and snapped this picture through the sliding glass doors. A remarkable specimen, I'm hoping he stays around a while, I think the squirrel selection on the menu in my back yard might just be the ticket!
