OUCH, OUCH, OUCH....IT REALLY HURTS!

I have been living in my house for almost 30 years. We have updated it twice. We did a major addition once, and the second time we just upgraded bathrooms and cut down some walls. But I can say that for the past 20 years, except for a new tile floor, and newer glass shower doors my main bathroom has stayed the same. The tub height has remained the same over the years. I take a shower almost every day, So by my calculations I have climbed into and out of that tub seven thousand three hundred times. One would think I had the hang of it, right?

So riddle me this, how can I suddenly forget how high the tub is, and cut it a wee bit short when I stepped out of the tub this morning causing unbelievable pain as the sliding glass door's track promptly peeled back the skin from the entire length of the side of my big toe on my left foot. Truthfully, it looked as if I had taken a potato peeler and just lopped off the skin. And to make matters worse, the peeled back skin was not torn off from the bottom of the tear, so I had to take manicure scissors and ever so gingerly cut the floppy skin off myself. Hurt, Pain. Gross!

Have you ever noticed when you have injured yourself in any way, you seem to be constantly bumping or whacking the injury over and over. My toes have taken a beating in my lifetime. I once broke two of them while vacuuming a scatter rug, and I have broken others walking into table legs, but this skinning thing really really hurts. It hurts when it gets snagged, it hurts when it gets wet in the shower and it kills when soap gets on it.

The only good thing I can say about this is that when it heals my toe is going to have new, non rough, uncallused skin.......on second thought, that's going too make the others look worse.....better make an appointment for a pedicure, but not until this pain is a thing of the past.
