I Like Shiny Floors

I have reached the age that whenever I do anything other than sit in a chair and toss back a couple of bon bons, the next day I'm going to hurt.

Over this past weekend, I washed and waxed my dining room and hallway floors. I put the wax on the floor by kneeling down and rubbing it into the wood, I like full coverage, each parquet square must shine with equal intensity. It takes me an entire afternoon to accomplish this. First the washing, then the waxing, then the buffing with brushes and then the buffing with buffing pads. It is a lengthy process, and I'm sure my anal-ness makes it longer than it has to be.

So, the next day....I truly expect my knees to be sore and I am pleasantly surprised when they are not. I am also taken by surprise when I realize my arse is aching!

Now my glutomus maximus is maximizing by the day, so when it decides to ache, you notice it. I just don't get how waxing my floor can make this happen. If I were doing lunges, leg lifts or any such exercise ( not likely) I could probably rationalize the discomfit in the derriere.

Maybe I can start a new exercise craze, firming the old backside by cleaning floors, yup I'll call it doing the Miyagi....wax on....wax off.
