Going 32 on a 60 MPH Road....Sheeeesh !

I found myself being angry behind the wheel of my car as I drove to work this morning. Really angry. So what caused this emotion? I was running a bit behind schedule this morning, and so I really did not want to encounter any traffic jams or school buses as I left town. No problem, I drove out of town in record time. Took the off highway shortcut, and arrived at my major road actually in record time. Thought to myself, smooth sailing from here. NOT !!! As I pulled onto the highway I was dismayed to find that I was driving behind a boat of a car going a brisk 32 miles per hour and it appeared from my perspective that there was nobody driving the car. With a solid line on this 2 lane highway, there was no hope for passing the turtle. On a good day I can get to the first traffic light in about 5 minutes driving 60mph. Today, it took 10. The car in front of me braked for no reason at all. At the intersection, I pulled up to the car on the right, and was positioned in such a way that as soon as the light turned green I could beat the boat through, and that's when I glanced over and got a good look at the driver. Conservatively, I would say she had to be about 100. Not tall enough to see over the steering wheel, and I can't be certain but I do believe that she was napping. I whipped by her as soon as the light turned and noticed that she turned into a Dunkin Donuts parking lot. Now here's the rub. I know we all age, and I'm not saying kick the elderly off the roads, but come on people, if there going to drive 32mph in a 60 mile an hour zone, stay the hell off of the roads until after rush hour. I think that I would have been more understanding if she had pulled into a Dr.'s office, or a hospital, but Dunkin Donuts !!! I glanced behind me as I continued down the 2 lane highway and saw what appeared to be car after car after car as far as the eye could see.
I want non-essential drivers off the roads during rush hour. I think that 10-3 every day should be enough time to get everything done, and if you need a donut for breakfast, for God's sake pick it up the day before.
I feel better getting this off my chest, and I think I am going to make a concerted effort to leave my house earlier tomorrow, do not want to take a chance getting behind the boat. But with my luck, I'll probably meet up with a school bus !
