Routines are hard to Re-Learn
I had to go back to work today after having a glorious 10 day break. Having that long a break really resets not only your biological clock, but also plays havoc with your well established routine. I literally groaned this morning when my alarm clock went off at 5:15. I don't think I have made a sound like that since my mom used to force me out of bed on weekends when I was a teenager. And this morning, everything seemed just a little off. I had a bad hair day which required more time in the bathroom than normal. I couldn't decide what to wear, as I longingly eyed the sweats that I have been living in for the past 10 days and dreaded getting my ever broadening butt back into panty hose. I went to fill my travel mug with coffee and realized that it was still in my car. So out the front door I go, only to find my car draped in about a 1/2 inch of ice . I grabbed my mug, and went back in the house for the keys. I started the car making sure the heat was turned up to hi, the rear defroster was on and of course I made doubly sure that my hiney warmer seats (enjoyable) were turned on as well. Back in the house, I realized that the newspaper was still out on the front lawn, so out I go again. Normally, I make one trip and remember to turn on the car, get my mug and pick up the newspaper, not today. I felt totally out of sync ! Finally, grabbing my laptop, my purse, my lunch and my coffee mug I go outside for the final time, only to find my windshield still icy. The back window was completely defrosted, but the side windows and windshield still bore enough ice to require me to scrape. I finallygot into the car and on the road. I realized almost immediately that my feet were comfy warm, it was only then that I noticed that all the heat was being directed to the floor and not my windshield. DUH! Was taking all that time off really worth it? That is a no brainer, Yes, yes it was! And if I could only do one thing differently, I think I would have chosen to win the lottery, less re-learning of routines.

You definately needed a car starter from Santa!!!
That is 1 reason why I work 2nd shift. Reason #2 is because sure s the grass grows green over the septic tank, someone would cut me off AND I would get behind someone who decided to be tourist and drive 5 in a 50 mile zone.
